Our new project for young people from Vienna, and the further development of the pilot project „Real Heroes are Different“ from 2018. „Democracy, what’s up?“ is an integrative cultural mediation project for and with youth and young adults in Austria. Through a playful exploration as well as a hands-on engagement with various art forms, participants are offered a positive personal narrative and an identity-boosting sense of self-efficacy in the collective. The project is funded by the Austrian Ministry of Social Affairs in the area of diversity and equal opportunities and is primarily aimed at young people who are structurally disadvantaged or experience marginalization. At the core of the Odds & Ends exhibition by Sara Hawy, Benjamin Podoba, and
Mateusz Wiglinzki is an exploration of light as both medium and subject,
inviting viewers to experience a multi-sensory journey that challenges
perceptions and blurs the lines between art and science.
Curated by Mirjana Mustra, the exhibition delves into the realms of abstract
expression, experimentation, and transformative processes, showcasing a
diverse range of mediums that include video, sculpture, collage,
installation, animation, and captivating light installations.
Hawy, Podoba, and Wiglinzki venture into uncharted territories, intervening
in the substance through chemical and thermal processes, pushing the
boundaries of artistic experimentation. The three artists merge their work
into a collective installation that immerses visitors in its world of
reflections and dynamic interplay. The viewers become active participants as
they move through the space and alter the visual landscape by their
presence. The exhibition Odds & Ends seeks to engage the senses, challenging
preconceived notions and inviting contemplation on the interconnectedness of
art, science, and the human experience.

Lockdown Stories (working title) is a film workshop project in cooperation with the Arbeiterkammer (Chamber of Labor). A selected group of youngsters received the possibility to develop and create a short film with the help of professionals. The short film is about the challenges that the corona crisis put the youth into. From their point of view, we learn about their personal feelings, their struggle of being isolated, and the importance of social cohesion. The project was initiated and led by Mahir Yildiz.
What a Take off! The first block of our short film had a promising start at the Aqueduct Liesing and Steinbruch Kaltenleutengeben. Sadly the flight turned out to be a short one. Due to contact to a Covid-19 case of one of our team members and a subsequent categorization into a K1 case we had to swallow the bitter pill and stop the shoot. At the moment the continuation of the shoot is planned for the next year sadly.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting restrictions for events of such dimensions we are sorry to announce that our interdisciplinary and transmedial installation SINNKLUSION won’t take place as planned in january 2021. We are currently looking forward to a better situation in autumn 2021!
The Corona pandemic had all hit us hard but we could not resist to use the additional time to advance our projects or even plan and initiate new ones!
After six months of extensive and intensive meetings with experimental composer Alireza Toghiyani the pre production phase of our art installation PROCEDO has been completed. A series of tests and assembly will follow this summer before the planned exhibition following autumn.
While the finalisation and adaption of the concept of our other trans medial and interdisciplinary art installation SINNKLUSION had revealed some technical difficulties, an evaluation of new collabarations with experts in the field of olfactory sciences seems to be a promising next step to complete the pre productions phase this year.
Also the absurdity of our experiences in the past two and a half months inspired us to develope a short film script with the working title CORONA DAYS which is planned to be shot in next month.
And last but not least a new collaboration with Adriana Zangl and Max Mutz resulted in the production of two pilots of a new interview format named ENE MENE SZENE which will go online next week.
More detailed informations concerning our projects will follow.
We are pleased to announce that our short film HARAM has won the 2nd place at the Schweinfurter Kurzfilmfestival.
Big thanks to the Schweinfurt Short Film Festival, KUK and the festival visitors.
Finally we have managed to go online. We would like to welcome you all on our website. Currently we are working on a new project titled SINNKLUSION. So stay tuned and visit us from time to time to check our progress.
